Scenery Junkies!

Hi, my name is Terri. And I am a scenery junkie! I have always enjoyed the Lord's great work, but it has gotten worse sense we got the bike. I have thought about seeking professional help but then I think, there is no better therapy for the soul than riding on the back of a bike with someone you love and trust dearly with your life. The sights, smells and soft rumble of the Harley take me away to a place I can never discribe. You truly have to experience it for yourself.

I love this kind of "rush hour"!

One of our favorite things to do is hang out in Alton. We have been able to keep the trailer up there all summer and whenever we get a night off, we like to go spend the night. One morning not too long ago, we woke up around 6:30 to the perfect morning. Overcast, sun not quite up yet, and a complete full rainbow across the whole town of Alton. Gorgious!! So we figured it would be the just the right time to catch the deer up and moving. Sure enough, about 1 mile south of Alton, we spotted all these guys on their morning commute. Awesome! Beats the heck out of city driving!

Beautiful East Fork!

Wednesday, July 8, we took off on a little jeep ride. We decided we needed to find the cooler temperatutes so for sure East Fork was the place. So we loaded up a picnic, the doggies, lots of water and headed out. Started in Johnson, out through scutumpah and then over deer springs ranch and headed up on top of the beautiful pink cliffs. After about 7 hours of pumping around and eating tons of dust, we got these great pictures. Even the pups were covered in dust, not to mention the jeep. Spent all morning on the 9th giving it a very detailed cleaning job, but in spite of that, it was a beautiful, warm day and we had a great time.

Wild Iris in Alton, Utah

First Week of Summer

It's been unusually cool in Kanab for being the first week of June. But as I look all over town, the roses and flowers are gorgious. They are thriving in the cool air. I wouldn't mind if it stayed this cool for awhile. We haven't had to run air conditioners very much and sleeping conditions are great. Crack a window and snooze. These are a few of the roses around my house. So pretty, you would think that I'm a gardner or something. Sunday afternoon, we took a little ride up north of Alton. It is so green it's unreal. As we were coming out of Alton we came on to a few elk standing in the ponds. This was the only buck among 'em but he sure was beautiful. I can't believe the scenery we have so close to us. Love this whole area.

CHANGE

Well, we did it. Kassi and Dexten are now in New Jersey, safe and sound. It was so funny to see her at the airport with him all strapped to her, thanks Sarah for the little carrier, it saved her butt. Made things so easy! Anyway, it was really hard to say goodbye and really hard to let them go, but I am so happy that little family is finally together! Now we are out of school on summer break and I'm thinking I have some major digging out to do. I cannot believe how much junk accumulates when you are busy playing with a grandbaby! Anyway, life goes on and we all adjust to change. Change is good and we all learn and grow from it, at least that is what I keep telling myself.

Grandma Business

Ok, so I have been in the grandma business for just about a week and a half. What a blast! It is crazy how excited I get to see him. I hurry home from work because I know he is there. I find myself just staring at him and watching every little move he makes. Just the fact that this little human being has just come straight from heaven is amazing. It is pure Joy! I also have to make special note and pay tribute to my sweet son-in-law. This young man has been so great through it all. So caring and compassionate towards Kassi and so happy to be a daddy! Thank you Colby. We are so blessed to have you in our family. What a wonderful Mother's Day this has been! Life doesn't get any better than this.

Dexten Colborn Leavitt's Birthday!!

At 1:27 p.m., Dexten was born at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He weighed 6 pounds, 11 oz and is 20 inches long. He had quite a tough little voyage getting here, but arrived safe, sound and absolutely beautiful! We are so blessed to have him here and I am so happy for Colby and Kassi!! It was so thrilling to watch him come into this world! On Saturday, May 2, Oliver (kidney) Stone was delivered at approximatly 12:40 p.m. and we are happy to say, will no longer be with us! Daddy, Mommy and Baby are doing terrific!

Four Days Before Delivery

This picture was taken on Sunday, April 26, 2009. We are so anxious for little Dexten to come into this world!

MAY DAY! MAY DAY!

Just a little update. Looks like May 1st will be the arrival date of our little baby boy! Kassi will go in on Wednesday for an amnio test, just to make sure lungs are ready and then they will induce her on Thursday night. So unless she can just be one of those that pops the baby out immediately, He will be here sometime on Friday. Can hardly wait! Not only for little guy to get here, but also for Kassi to feel well again!

Love Sac, Baby Love Sac!!!

Colby and Kassi asked us to bring our truck down to Vegas to help them move their stuff back to Utah. I'm sure they were sick of hearing us give them so much crap about the "Love Sac"!! It took up the whole back of the truck!! It is huge but I do have to say, dang comfortable! I would have loved to just ride back there the whole way back home. And of course, I had to sing about the Love Sac, Baby Love Sac! all day long. I think they were dang happy when the Love Sac was finally tucked away in storage until the next move! Did I mention how big and heavy it is?

So Tired of Being Cold!

I don't want to jinx anything, but it actually is starting to look and feel like Spring around here! This Spring has been a little crazy and has teased us alot, but I think I can finally start doing a little planting without worries of freezing. Fingers crossed. Gary and I have been coaching the girls softball team at the high school and we have only had 1 game where the weather has at least been decent. If only shivering was a form of exercise, I would be in great shape about now!
We added a new addition to our family in March. His name is Harley. Should have been Marley!! This pup is full of it! But he is so much fun. At least for the most part. Lacy's world has been completely rocked but she is slowly adjusting and becoming tolerant of the little bugger. Our most exciting thing that is about to happen is the birth of our first grandson!! We can hardly wait! It's looking like the last week of April. It has been a long time since we have had a human baby in our home and still can't believe it is actually happening! Colby and Kassi have both been through a lot of trials the past little while, so a sweet little baby from heaven is just the perfect thing to be looking forward to! Garett has been really busy for the last 5 months referering basketball games and has really enjoyed it. He will be heading out to the San Francisco area at the end of the month to do the alarm thing. He doesn't want to go though until our little baby gets here safe and sound. Our little Bed and Breakfast (frontporchinnkanab.com), is starting to pick up a little and we are hoping for a good season, but time will tell. Things are tough all over and I'm afraid Kanab is going to feel the crunch a little this summer. All in all, life is great! No complaints. Still waiting for the knock at the door from Publisher's Clearing House. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. We must have patience in all things.
